地层古生物工作是“穷人”从事的贵族职业,是所有地质学科的基础,地球科学人“放眼世界,胸怀全球”。

 

一、个人概况

  1961年生,浙江湖州人,1981年毕业于浙江煤炭工业学校,1981-1983曾在浙江省长广煤矿公司查扉矿工作,1986年在中国矿业大学获得硕士学位,1989年在该校获得博士学位。1996-2000分别在日本新泻大学和澳大利亚deakin大学从事博士后研究,2000年底由中科院百人计划从澳大利亚引进到南京地质古生物所工作。曾获国家杰出青年基金(2002),主持基金委优秀创新群体9年(2004-2012);任科技部9732006-2010)、基金委重大(2013-2017)、青藏高原第二次科考计划专题(2019-2023)等项目首席科学家;《现代古生物学和地层学》国家重点实验室主任(2006-2015)。现任《国际地层委员会》副主席和《palaeogeography, palaeoclimatology, palaeoecology》共同主编。在二叠纪地层学、二叠纪末生物大灭绝与环境变化、腕足动物和牙形类古生物学等方面取得了系统性和创新性成果。2015年当选中国科学院院士。

业已发表论著350余篇,出版专著或主编专集25册。野外工作足迹涉及50多个国家。由于在二叠纪地层学方面的突出贡献,2019年被授予国际地层委员会最高金奖(ics medal)。还曾获国家自然科学二等奖和省科技进步一等奖各1项(均排名第二)、国家六部委颁发的优秀回国人员成就奖、江苏省高层次人才突出贡献奖、李四光地质科学奖等、江苏省先进工作者等。

 

二、研究领域

主要从事二叠纪腕足动物、牙形类化石系统古生物学、生物大灭绝及其以后的复苏、定量生物古地理学、生物多样性和古环境学等方面的研究。在系统古生物研究方面,他深入研究了十多个国家的腕足类和牙形类动物群。带领团队建立石炭纪-三叠纪全球腕足动物数据库,创建全球生物古地理和多样性演变模式,使其成为判断该时段地体古地理位置和古海道开闭时间以及海洋底栖生态系统演变依据。

6个二叠纪金钉子研究的主要完成人之一。领衔的课题组与国外实验室合作完成的多个重要界线的高精度年龄等被纳入最新的《国际年代地层表,2022》。1994年第一次赴西藏希夏邦马峰地区进行野外工作以后对喜马拉雅地区二叠纪地质产生浓厚兴趣.先后5次进入西藏进行野外地质工作,分别对藏南地区的色龙剖面、土隆剖面和珠穆朗玛峰地区的多个剖面进行了详细的地层和古生物研究,发表了一系列论著,建立了喜马拉雅地区的高分辨率的二叠系-三叠系地层和地球化学剖面,基本阐明了南方高纬度地区的二叠纪末生物大灭绝模式。

在二叠纪生物大灭绝研究中,与团队成员和国际同行一起共同开展高精度综合年代地层框架、生物多样性定量分析和多种地化指标等研究,论证二叠纪末海陆生物大灭绝的同时性和瞬时性,指出特提斯洋中酸性岩浆弧火山喷发和西伯利亚大规模岩浆活动造成地表环境的巨变是导致该生物大灭绝的主因。相关成果在sciencescience advancespnasgeologyepsl等刊物发表后,引起国内外同行较大关注。2011年发表在science上的成果入选《2012年度中国科学十大进展》,相关内容被编入美国大学教材等。2020年与大数据团队一起,利用大数据平台、开发新算法等共同创建了古生代3亿多年的高分辨率生物多样性演变曲线,成果发表在science上,分别被评为2020年度《中国科学十大进展》和《中国科学十大进展新闻》等。

  此外,每年到国外开展野外工作,涉及美国、加拿大、欧洲、南非、中国周边的日本、缅甸、巴基斯坦、伊朗、泰国、蒙古等,在国内,分别在新疆、华南、东北、华北等各地进行二叠纪地层和腕足动物、牙形类化石群的研究,特别对新疆和华北含油气、煤炭资源地层、广西、四川、重庆、贵州、云南等地二叠纪地层和腕足动物化石群进行了详细地研究。对建立详细的大型数据库具有浓厚的兴趣。除了腕足动物化石群以外,他还对牙形类化石、菊石类化石、古植物化石等都有一定的兴趣,现有研究生和博士后分别从事这些方面地研究。

 

三、获奖及荣誉

由于他在二叠纪地层学方面的突出贡献,2019年被授予国际地层委员会最高金奖(ics medal),目前是亚洲唯一获此殊荣的学者。此外,他还曾获国家自然科学二等奖(2010)和省科技进步一等奖(2008)1项(均排名第二)、国家六部委颁发的优秀回国人员成就奖(2003)、江苏省高层次人才突出贡献奖(2011)、尹赞勋地层古生物学奖(2013)、李四光地质科学奖(2015)、江苏省先进工作者(2021)等。

 

四、承担科研项目情况

先后主持和参加了10余项国家自然科学基金委、澳大利亚联邦基金委、科技部和原煤炭部的项目。是2000年度中国科学院《引进海外杰出人才计划》(百人计划)获得者,2002年度获得《国家杰出青年基金》。2003年度国家自然科学基金委员会资助的《优秀创新群体》学术带头,2006年作为首席科学家获得科技部973项目《地史时期海陆生物多样性的演变》。2008年和2015年分别获得国家自然基金委重点国际合作项目资助。2013-2017主持基金委重大项目《古生代重大海洋生物事件》。目前正在主持《青藏高原第二次科考计划》专题、中科院专项b课题等。
